Business Economics have come into sharp focus recently due to the overall downturn in business climate. Many reports highlight the advantage of good supply chain performance to overall company competitive outcomes but don’t always clearly articulate the connection between supply chain performance and the balance sheet. The need to understand the relationship between supply chain performance and overall enterprise performance has never been greater and over the last 5 years the Supply Chain Council has undertaken several research programmes to define and describe these relationships. This provides a practical focus on the “wheels and levers” linking supply chain performance and overall business outcomes which are reviewed. Date: 2009-07-16

The Energy, Oil and Gas working group is meeting to develop SCOR benchmarks and material flows for the Oil and Gas Industry. Attendees will work on defining SCORcards and material flow models for the 3 segments -- Up-, Mid-, and Down-stream -- of the end-to-end supply chain the Oil and Gas working group has identified.
